Sail Specifications

It is drawn to scale 3/16" = 1'. You may be able to enlarge it to original size by using the 3" line beneath the legend. Bu maybe you won't need to.

Here are a few notes:
- I defer to your expertise. If you think something should be changed then let me know. I will likely agree with your expertise.

- There are three sails. I left out the lazy jacks because they made it look a bit confusing. I don't see why you would need to see them in the drawings. Also, on the big picture of the whole boat, some rigging details are left out on the FORE and MIZZEN for clarity. All sails have all the rigging details such as bridles, parallels, lazy jacks, etc.

- Sailcloth weight: I want to go with Dacron sails. I would like your advice on sail cloth weight. The boat is a coastal cruiser, not an open water boat, and I prefer the reduced weight. (although too light might bag out the sails, so I would like to avoid that.) I suggest 6 oz Dacron. Does this seem about right to you?
- Sail colour is Tanbark.

- Battens. The battens will be 3/4" x 1 1/2" on either side of the sail, screwed through the sail, So the fina batten dimensions are 1.5" x 2". I plan to use red cedar for the battens.

- Parrells. I gave the measurements for the parrells at the HEAD and FOOT for each sail. You can snap a line from top to bottom to get the precise location for the others. They all should then line up with the mast.

- Bridles. I trust your judgment on the placement of these. Ideally each pair of grommets would be spaced about 2" apart, given the dimensions of the battens.
