Extra Info
Here is the main sail dimensions, so sorry
for how terrible my tech skills are. If you see in the
photo i sent you last time you'll notice the gaff has a curve in
it, i have tried to draw this for you on the attachment. The
straight part of the gaff is 2:20 before it curves. Total length
of the gaff from middle of sail eye to middle of sail eye is
3:35. The vertical measurements were taken every 30cm.
This is quite a rough drawing , can you get the idea from it ?
I would like 2 reefing points and very heavy canvas as the 2nd
reef would be our storm reef. And a loose footed sail will be
best for us, we lace the sail to the mast.
From the top of the luff to the 2nd reefing point we have a
measurement of 4:40 and to the 1st reef 5:77, i measured from
the top down. We had a new main from North sails and it was
totally useless after only a little use, we require tough sails
to get us around the globe starting this year across the
Pacific. Lots of old features are on the original sail eg rope
on the leach as far as the first reefing point and very strong
eyes for the outhaul and attachment points. We've heard good
things about Fareastern sails so I’m happy for your advice
and expertise.
